Refresher Evaluation Workshop

On the 2nd March 2020, Centaur trainer Jackie traveled to Brookfield School in West Berkshire to deliver a one day Handling People with Special Needs Education refresher evaluation workshop. It was a busy day working with five Key Trainers all who had previously attended and passed the five day Handling People with Special Needs Education Masterclass course. Jackie said ” great day with knowledgeable people, relaxed and friendly”.

Attending the course we had Helen Thurgood and Ola Tarczynska both from Brookfield School, they were joined by Karen Charles from John Chilton School in Ealing, Tania Hemstock from Addington School in Wokingham and Susy Roberts from Uplands School in Swindon.

Today’s course was a one day Handling People with Special Needs Education refresher evaluation workshop for The PACE Centre in Aylesbury. This one day refresher was for the four current Key Trainers based at The PACE Centre, Szilvia Kopor, Sarah Hyde, Sonia Pike and Shleena Lee amd they were joined by Helen Brind who was previously employed at The PACE Centre but has now moved onto Playskill. Helen still joins the manual handling team at The PACE Centre frequently, sharing knowledge and tips.

The second course this week was again a one day Handling People with Special Needs refresher course, this time for Wiltshire County Council. We had seven participants, Elizabeth Schorah, Alison Patrick, Tracy Evans, Hilary Townsend, Lyn Vines and Claire Moore all from Wiltshire County Council and they were joined by Emma Waters from Commonweal Secondary School in Swindon.

The day was spend covering many areas including looking at the training plans and risk assessments used by the Key Trainers, covering legislation and looking at practical techniques.
