This is the third time Jan has now traveled over to the Turks and Caicos Islands to train staff for this company and enjoys her time spent across there whilst been very well looked after by the team of staff at the hospital. The group of eight worked very hard over the three days and were very enthusiastic to learn and develop their skills and all ended the three days achieving a pass. Attending the course we had Nakia Williams, Akeem Roberts, Shareel Dixon, Lurline Barnett, Lorenzo Seymour, Debra Bagot, Karderia Grant and Tarah Silvera.

The second course of the week was held on the 20th June and this was a one day Load Management Theory & Client Handling Techniques refresher evaluation workshop for the existing Key Trainers. It is a requirement from Centaur in order for a Key Trainer to maintain their manual handling accreditation that they not only complete and pass a paper-based assessment once every six months but also attend one of these face to face refresher courses for assessment at least once every two years.

Jan had a great day with the three trainers, Angeleen Trowers, Germania Urena and Marsha-Lee Whittock, spending the day looking at new equipment, hoisting, refreshing theory knowledge and emergency techniques.

Education Authority Northern Ireland

Janet spent the week, 10th – 14th June 2019, in Coleraine in Northern Ireland, she was there to trainer a number of staff from the various schools within Northern Ireland on a Handling People with Special Needs Masterclass Course. We split the week into two courses due to the number of staff needing to be trained and that all the staff attending had previously attended a train the trainer course. This was a switch over course as Education Authority Northern Ireland wanted all the trainers within the schools in Northern Ireland to be with Centaur Training and Development.
