Worcestershire Council Annual Refresher Course

This week’s course of the week was a one day Handling People with Special Needs Education refresher evaluation workshop held at Fort Royal School in Worcester. We visit this school annually as the team of six Key Trainers based in Fort Royal School and Regency High School. There was Angela Broadbent and Sara-Jane Corbishley from the PD Outreach Team based within Regency High School, Sue Richards and Joanne Wright from Fort Royal School and Sara Corfield and Suzanne Nottingham both from Regency High School.

Perioperative Manual Handling & Patient Positioning Annual Refresher Workshop

The final course of 2018 was a one day annual Perioperative Manual Handling & Patient Positioning refresher workshop for Warrington & Halton Hospitals NHS Trust on the 17th December. Jan, Centaur trainer, spent the day with the team of five Key Trainers from the theatres departments in both Warrington Hospital and Halton Hospital, working on practical techniques when moving and handling in a theatre specific environment and the problems that may occur.

Somerset County Council

From the 10th – 14th December 2018 we ran a Handling People with Special Needs Education Train the Trainer Masterclass Course. Centaur primary trainer Janet spent the week with the five staff who are based in schools across Somerset County Council. It was a very productive week with all five of the participants working really hard and proving to be a very motivated team, even sacrificing the odd coffee break!

Attending the course was Jo Nield and CHarlotte Stocker both from Fiveways School, Amie Hollomon from Critchill School, Helen Chainey from Avalon School and Helen Spear and Fleur Cutler both from Elmwood and Penrose Federation School.

6th December 2018

Today Maureen spent the day at The Northumberland Church of England Academy in Ashington to deliver a one day Handling People with Special Needs Education refresher evaluation workshop to seven Key Trainers from the local area. Attending the course we had Michael Banks and Claire Brown both from the host school, they were joined by Jacqueline Dunn from Learning for Life in Consett, County Durham, Wendy Johnstone and Jen Haddock from Beacon Hill School in Wallsend, Jonathan Moffatt from Sunningdale School in Sunderland and Andrew Gullon from Sir Charles Parsons School in Walker.
