Handling People with Special Needs Masterclass

From the 25th – 29th June 2018 Janet was at Ivy House School in Derby to train three new Key Trainers on the Handling People with Special Needs Education Masterclass Course. Attending the course was Lucy Guppy from the host school and she was joined by Amanda Hesketh from Redbridge High School in Liverpool and Tessa Astill from Saint Benedict RC Voluntary Academy in Derby.

Janet was extremely friendly and put everyone at ease, she made it comfortable for everyone to feel they could have some input. Janet supported everyone on the course to make sure each of us were able to display best practice in all aspects” – Lucy Guppy, Assistant Head Teacher, Ivy House School.

 

Load Management Refresher Course

This weeks course was held at Halton Hospital in Runcorn, Cheshire on the 25th June and was a one day Load Management Theory & Client Handling Techniques refresher evaluation workshop. Attending the course we had Gregory Dixon and Peter Sutton both from Warrington & Halton Hospitals NHS Trust, they were joined by Polly O’Neill from The Abbeyfield Society and Jennifer Nelson from Coventry City Council.

The day went well with a diverse group of people with different approaches to both manual handling and delivering training, lots of discussions, sharing and problem solving taking place”¬†Jan Crawford, Centaur¬† Primary Trainer.

Birkett House School Refresher Workshop

On the 19th June Janet traveled to Birkett House School in Leicester to deliver a one day Handling People with Special Needs Education refresher evaluation workshop. Attending the course we had Zara Groves and Graham Brown, both from the host school and they were joined by Juliet Padbury from Menphy’s Nursery, Kim Booth from Forest Way School and Emma Cooke and Dawn North both from Ashmount School.

Handling People with Special Needs Education Refresher Workshop – 5th June 2018

Today’s course was rescheduled from back in February when the “Beast from the East” hit and caused problems for the participants due to be attending, lucky this time it was a lovely sunny day.

The course was held at Kirkleatham Hall School in Redcar and we had six participants attending, Lauren Bottrill, Leanne Simpson and Nicola Poulter all from the host school and they were joined by Sarah Gunn, Paula Limon and Emily Bottomley all from nearby KTS Academy.
