Conwy County Borough Council Refresher Course

Jan spent the day on the 31st October at Conwy County Borough Council. She was there to deliver a one day Load Management Theory & Client Handling Techniques refresher workshop to four Key Trainers from the area. Attending the course was Hayley Wheeler and Christine Williams both from Conwy County Borough Council and they were joined by Mike Picton from Focus Care Wales and Susan Mortimer from Primecare North Wales.

Penn Hall School Refresher

Janet was back with the Key Trainers at Penn Hall School on the 20th October to deliver their annual evaluation refresher workshop. This school choose to attend a one day face to face refresher course every year rather than complete paper based assessments. Attending the course we had Janet Coley, Tracey Padley, Gaynor Walters, Janice Handley, Karen Whitehouse and Kimberley Morgan. I am pleased to say that the whole team of Key Trainers had maintained their standards and all ended the course achieving a pass with merit.

Minster Care Group / Croftwood Care

Jan spent the day at Thorley House in Wigan on the 17th October 2017 to deliver a one day Load Management Theory & Client Handling Techniques refresher workshop. Attending the course we had Karen Clarke from Lyndhurst Care Home, Nicola Noon from Greenacres Care Home and Gillian King from Lakelands Care Home. It was a busy day with a selection of areas requested by the three trainers covered, including slide sheet techniques and using a Wendy Lett Sheet and sitting up techniques along with problem solving and assessment.

North Lanarkshire Council Train the Trainer Course

This week, 9th – 13th October 2017, Janet Hunt traveled to North Lanarkshire Council to trainer an additional eight Key Trainers for the education section of the council. Attending the course was Lynn Hughes from Buchanan High School, Colette Ellis from Firpark School, Isobel Boyle and Lorna Robertson both from Mavisbank School, Kirstie Johnstone from Firpark Secondary School, Victoria Munn from Glenbryan School, Stephanie Munro from Baird Memorial School and Karen Brown from Redburn School.

Handling People with Special Needs Refresher Course

Maureen spent the day on the 11th October at Demelza Hospice in Sittingbourne, Kent to deliver a one day Handling People with Special Needs Education refresher evaluation workshop. Attending the course and pictured below we had Anne Fullbrook from Demelza Hospice, she was joined by Stephanie Rutter from Columbus School and College in Essex and Jane Stewart-Parry from St Mary’s Wrestwood Children’s Trust.

Maureen was made to feel very welcome by Demelza and was grateful to Anne for all her preparation prior to the course and for showing them around the facilities.

St Margaret of Scotland Hospice

This week, 9th – 12th October 2017,  Jan Crawford was with St Margaret of Scotland Hospice in Clydebank to train two new Key Trainers on the three day Load Management Theory & Client Handling Techniques course and also deliver a one day Load Management Theory & Client Handling Techniques refresher session to the four existing Key Trainers. Kemball School

Kemball School 2nd-6th October 2017

This weeks course was held at Kemball School in Blurton, Stoke on Trent from the 2nd – 6th October 2017. It was a busy week with a lot covered along with the worry of an OFSTED inspection for the host school which thankfully didn’t happen. Attending the course was Felicity Bayley and Karen Burgess both from the host school, they were joined by Louise Bieluch from Derby City Council and Stephanie Nagy from Oakfield Park School in Pontefract, West Yorkshire.
