Handling People with Special Needs Masterclass Course

This week’s course was held at The Pioneer School in Basildon, Essex, from the 24th April – 28th April 2017. Attending the course was Sue Hand from Beaconhill Academy in Thurrock, Clare Thorn from The Pioneer School and Helen Standen from Dycourts School in Romford.

They were a well prepared group who all workers long and hard and were always ready to explore new ideas. Janet said that overall it was an excellent week with three excellent students who will all be a credit to their school.

Hounslow London Borough Council Refresher Workshop

Janet Brewer spent the day at Hounslow London Borough Council on the 25th April to deliver an annual refresher evaluation workshop to the four Load Management Theory & Client Handling Techniques Key Trainers within the council. This team of Key Trainers choose to complete a face to face refresher workshop every year rather than complete the paperbased evaluation questionnaires every six months.

Handling People with Special Needs Education Refresher Workshop

On the 25th April 2017 Jackie spent the day at The Meadows School College of Sport in Sandwell. She was there to deliver a one day Handling People with Special Needs Education refresher evaluation workshop. Attending the course we had Jasveer Kaur, Lorraine Cowan and Leigh Hawkins all from The Meadows, they were joined by Emma Humphries from neighboring school, The Orchard School and Dixon Kennedy how traveled all the way from Darlington Education Village.

Cherry Trees

Jackie traveled to East Clandon in Surrey on the 20th April 2017, to deliver a one day Handling People with Special Needs Education refresher course for the two Key Trainers based at Cherry Trees.

As there was just the two participants from Cherry Trees attending the course the day was spent covering presentation and various techniques used within their respite care setting.


The Orchard School

On the 3rd April 2017, Janet Hunt spent the day at The Orchard School in Sandwell to deliver a one day refresher course. It was a busy day for the four Key Trainers who attended with many areas covered including teaching skills and additional delivery ideas. Attending the course we had Janice Stirrup from The Orchard School, she was joined by Michelle Goundry from The Bridge School in Birmingham, Caroline Moore from Ridgeway School in Bedfordshire and Jan Greenway from Brays School in Birmingham.

Warmley Park School – 3rd April 2017

Maureen spent the day at Warmley Park School in Bristol to deliver a one day Handling People with Special Needs Education refresher course to five Key Trainers from the area. Attending the course we had Moira Stephens from Claremont School in Bristol, Lynne Davies and Amanda Humphreys from Larkrise School in Wiltshire and Helen Wilshire and Kim McNamara from Warmley Park School.
