Handling People with Special Needs Education Refresher Workshop

On the 30th March 2017 Jackie spent the day at Ivel Valley School in Biggleswade to deliver a one day Handling People with Special Needs Education refresher course to four Key Trainers. Attending the course we had Sarah Escott from the host school, she was joined by Angela Brown and Katie Negus from The Chiltern School in Bedfordshire and Jane Harvey from Lexden Springs School in Essex.

Refresher Evaluation Workshop – 27th March 2017

Maureen spent the day at Rowan Park School in Liverpool on the 27th March to deliver a one day Handling People with Special Needs Education Refresher Workshop to four Key Trainers. Attending the course we had Carole Cunningham and Chantelle Townley both from Rowan Park School, they were joined by Janet Phillips from Acorns Primary School in Preston and Lindsey Howell from Fox Wood School in Warrington. It was a busy day with a lot of areas covered including risk assessment and practical techniques.

St Francis Hospice Refresher Workshop – 27th March 2017

Today’s course was held at St Francis Hospice in Romford and was a one day Load Management Theory & Client Handling Techniques refresher evaluation workshop. Attending the course we had Tracey McGarry, Debbie Alexander, Clare Skurr and Angela Dale all from St Francis Hospice and they were joined by Jenny Cross from the Nuffield Hospital in Woking. The day was spent covering new techniques and problem solving and all five participants ended the day achieving a pass with merit.

Handling People with Special Needs Refresher Course

Maureen spent the day on the 24th March 2017, at Ysgol Hen Felin in Ystrad, Rhondda to deliver a one day Handling People with Special Needs Education Refresher Evaluation Workshop. It was a busy day with many areas covered including small children, legislation and weight guidelines.

Attending the course and pictured above we have Lisa Jones, Wendy Rees, Rhiannon Stallard all from Ysgol Hen Felin and Marian Farrelly from Crownbridge School in Torfean and at the back we have Robert Hemming who is also from Ysgol Hen Felin.

 

York Masterclass Course

Janet Hunt spent the week from the 20th – 24th March 2017 at Hob Moor Oaks School in York to train three new Handling People with Special Needs Key Trainers. Although it was a small group it was a very busy week and all three participants ended the course achieving a pass, with Stacey even passing with Merit, well done Stacey.

Attending the course and pictured above we have Michelle Butterworth from West Oaks School in Leeds, Stacey Cussans from Hob Moor Oaks School in York and they were joined by Stephanie Luck who traveled all the way from Cherry Garden School in Southwark, London to join the course.

Campsie View School

Today’s course, 20th March 2017, was held at Campsie View School in Lenzie, near Glasgow. Jackie delivered a Handling People with Special Needs Education refresher course to two participants, Jayne Begbie from Campsie View School and Vince Bowles from Scottish Autism. It was an enjoyable day and due to the small group size a lot was covered and refreshed.

Load Management Theory & Client Handling Techniques Refresher Course

Janet Brewer made the journey back to Emcare Solutions in Glasgow on the 17th March 2017 to deliver a one day Load Management Theory & Client Handling Techniques refresher course. A number of clients from different organisations across Scotland came together for this refresher course which made it interesting and informative due to the different experience and knowledge each Key Trainer had.

Attending the course we had Andrew Price from 1st Home Care, Michael Doherty and Amanda Meldrum from Trust Housing Association, Eleanor McCarron from Clyde Healthcare, Billy MacDonald from Border Caring Services, David Picker from NHS Western Isles, Donna Hughes from Inverclyde Council and finally Kirsty Banks from Town Break Stirling.

Train the Trainer Masterclass Course

Janet Hunt spent the week 6th – 10th March 2017 at Regency High School in Worcester to train six new Handling People with Special Needs Key Trainers. Janet was made to feel very welcome at the school and would like to thank Sara-Jane for all her planning prior to the course.

Hosting the course was Sara-Jane Corbishley from Regency High School, she was joined by Joanne Wright from Fort Royal School, Kelly Pearce from Vale of Evesham School, Abi Grief and Sarah Mosson both from Staffordshire County Council and Hayley Fraser from John Grant School.

Yarrow Housing Masterclass Course

Jan Crawford spent the week from the 6th – 10th March 2017 at Yarrow Housing in London. She was there to train three new Handling People with Special Needs V2 Key Trainers. It was a very busy but great week with lots covered and all three participants ended the week achieving a pass and will now join the already developed training team within Yarrow. The three participants that attended the course were Georgina Morgan, Rosario Rocacurba McDonnell and Janine Braun.

Wiltshire County Council

Jackie visited Wiltshire County Council on the 7th March 2017 to deliver a one day Handling People with Special Needs Education refresher evaluation workshop to six Key Trainers based within the council. They were also joined by Emma Waters from Swindon Borough Council. It was a busy day covering many areas including any new equipment which is available on the market.
