Handling People with Special Needs Education one day refresher course

Janet Brewer was in Tottenham, London on the 28th November 2016 to visit The Vale School and deliver a one day Handling People with Special Needs Education refresher evaluation workshop. Attending the course we had Stephen Powell and Tina Green both from Little Heath School, Janice Hext from RNIB Sunshine House School and Gillian Martin, Stacey Ann Kimber and Dorota Witkowska all from The Vale School.

North Lanarkshire Council

On the 21st November 2016, Janet Hunt spent the day at North Lanarkshire Council in Muirhead. She was there to refresher the knowledge on the Handling People with Special Needs Education training resource to four of the Key Trainers based within the council. Attending the course we had Sheila Kerr, Mhairi Sadiq, Elizabeth Reid and Sheena Delaney and all ended the course achieving a pass with merit. Well Done!

City of Wakefield Council

Jan Crawford was with the City of Wakfield Council on the 21st November 2016. She was there to deliver a one day Load Management Theory & Client Handling Techniques refresher evaluation workshop to three key trainers from the council, Debbie Wilson, Sharon Myhill and Sue Brown, who were also joined by Dawn Ward from Great Yarmouth College.

Kingfisher School, Oldham

On the 16th November 2016, Maureen spent the day at Kingfisher School in Oldham to deliver a one day Handling People with Special Needs Education refresher workshop to three Key Trainers. Attending the course we had Anne Tomlinson and Catherine Croke both from Kingfisher School and they were joined by Lisa Howarth from Oldham Council, they insisted that Maureen join them in the photo at the end of the day.

14th November 2016

Today Janet Hunt was on the South West Coast at Curnow School in Redruth, Cornwall. She was there to deliver a one day Handling People with Special Needs Education refresher evaluation workshop to six Key Trainers from the local area. It was a very busy day with many areas refreshed and lots of practical techniques covered. Attending the course we had Jenny Buckland, Sarah Sandercock and Mark Murray all from Curnow School, they were joined by Julie Walsh from Pathways in Cornwall and Allyson Bennett and Carol Mitchell both from Millford School in Plymouth.

Jenny Buckland said ” Thank you for new ideas which will impact on our training, making it more enjoyable for all trainees“.

Janet was very impressed with all six participants and their level of knowledge and this showed as they all passed the course with merit.

Rowan Gate Primary School

Janet Hunt spent the week from the 7th till the 11th November at Rowan Gate Primary School in Welling borough, Northamptonshire. She was there to train three new Handling People with Special Needs Education Key Trainers, Juliet Padbury from Menphys Nursery Sketchley Hill, Kayleigh Haynes from The Menphys Centre in Wigston and Nicolas Parkin from Rowan Gate Primary School.

Theatres Refresher Course

Janet Brewer spent her Sunday. 6th November 2016, at the Nuffield Hospital in Newcastle to deliver a one day Perioperative Manual Handling & Patient Positioning refresher course. The course was arranged for a Sunday as the hospital found it difficult to access the theatres on any other day due to surgery taking place. Attending the course was Joanna Crawford-High and Amanda Cumersdale both from The Newcastle Nuffield Hospital and they were joined by Carole Brotherston from NHS Borders.

Handling People with Special Needs Education Masterclass Course

Janet Hunt spent the week from the 31st October till the 4th November at Elms Banks Specialist Arts College in Greater Manchester. She was there to train four new Key Trainers on the Handling People with Special Needs Education course. It was a busy week with many areas covered and the course ended with all four participants achieving a pass. Janet said “this was an exceptional week that started with very nervous individuals but ended with all having more knowledge and enthusiasm for all they had achieved and they all formed a great bond“.

Attending the course we had Charlotte Smith and Judith Ellis both from Elms Banks Specialist Arts College they were joined by Sarah Leighfield from Robert Le Kyng Primary School and Susan Johnston from Springwood Primary School.

 

The Richmond Fellowship Scotland

Today’s course was held at Emcare Solutions in Glasgow and was a one day Handling People with Special Needs V2 (Adults) refresher evaluation workshop on behalf of The Richmond Fellowship Scotland. This course was the second refresher held this year for The Richmond Fellowship which brought another six of the Key Trainers based within the organisation up to date.
