Woodlands School, Blackpool

 

Janet Hunt spent the 23rd – 27th May 2016 in Blackpool at Woodlands School to trainer six new Key Trainers on the Handling People with Special Needs Education Masterclass course. It was a busy week as it was a mixed group of participants coming from many different areas. Janet commented that this group picked up knowledge and thrived on any individual input. As the group were so focused it was a joy for the trainer to see the group expand and grow in knowledge, techniques and confidence. The participants for the course were Berni Ashworth and Julie Charnock from Woodlands School in Blackpool, Julie Sutcliffe from Red Marsh School in Lancashire, Helen Vickers from Sefton Council, Michelle Stone from East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Steve Poxon from Astley Park School in Lancashire.

Handling People with Special Needs Education Refresher Course 19th May 2016

Today’s course was held at Thomas Wolsey School in Suffolk and it was a very busy and well spent day for all the participants and the trainer, Janet Hunt. Attending the course was Debbie Sparke from Thomas Wolsey School, Christine Ugolini, Lisa Brown and Carol Stewart from The Bridge School and Lucy Hards from Riverwalk School. Janet commented on how” this group just keep improving” and “I was impressed by their individual achievements and professionalism

Handling People with Special Needs Refresher Workshop

Janet Hunt spent the day on the 16th May 2016, at Springwood Heath Primary School in Liverpool to deliver a one day Handling People with Special Needs Education Refresher Evaluation Workshop to six Key Trainers. Attending the course was Catherine Brooks and Tracey Sutton both from Green Fold School in Bolton, Gillian Lester, Sarah Leslie and Julie Pendleton all from Springwood Heath Primary School in Liverpool and Michelle Rice from Broadgreen International School also in Liverpool.

Keech Hospice Care 16th May 2016

Today Janet Brewer was in Luton at Keech Hospice Care to deliver a one day refresher evaluation workshop to the three key trainers based within the organisation. It was a full day with many areas looked at and covered including problem solving, using various pieces of equipment and many practical techniques. Janet said that all three participants are very experienced trainers, knowledgeable and confident.

Western Isles Community Care Forum

Janet made the long journey back over to Stornoway this week, 10th – 12th May 2016, to deliver another Load Management Theory & Client Handling Techniques Train the Trainer Masterclass course to care staff based on the island. It was a very busy three days and all the participants ended the course achieving a pass. Fantastic feedback from the participants for Janet “She made it such an enjoyable and interesting experience. Also made us feel very relaxed, enhancing our learning experience.”   Attending the course was Hannah Knight and Linda MacDonald from Western Isle Community Care Forum, Joanne MacDonald from Comhairle Nan Eilean Siar and Catherine Ann MacKinnon and Rhona MacIver both from Bethesda Care Home & Hospice.

NHS Forth Valley Refresher Course

On the 10th May 2016, Jan Crawford made the long journey over the Stirling to deliver a one day Load Management Theory and Client Handling Techniques one day refresher course to the six Key Trainers at NHS Forth Valley. It was a busy day spent covering many areas including assessment and chair techniques along with new equipment available. Jan commented on what a fantastic group this was with a great support network. Jan also received great feedback “ This trainer doesn’t need improvement, she was great”

Stoke On Trent City Council

This weeks course of the week was held at Kemball School in Stoke on the 5th May 2016. This one day Handling People with Special Needs Education refresher evaluation workshop was a yearly visit to Kemball School and the staff at the school were joined this year by two new Key Trainers from Abbey Hill School and Performing Arts College.

The participants for this course were Jodie Evans and Yvonne Scragg from Abbey Hill School and Performing Arts College and Helen Smith, Kelly Enstone and Claire Easby all from Kemball School 

As always Janet Hunt received fantastic feedback from the participants “ Fantastic Trainer, Helpful & Approachable”

 

Hounslow London Borough Council 27th April 2016

Today Janet Brewer traveled down to Chiswick to spend the day with six Key Trainers based within Hounslow London Borough Council and refresher their knowledge and skills on the Load Management Theory & Client Handling Techniquestraining course.

There were six participants for the course, Ashvindra Permalloo, Rajinder Mall, Bernie Walsh, Valerie Herminie, Sundeep Jaura and Sue Higgins and all achieved a pass with merit at the end of the day.
