The Avenue School Masterclass Course

Janet Hunt has just spent a week, 19th – 23rd October 2015, at The Avenue School in Reading to train six new Key Trainers on the Handling People with Special Needs Education course. A very full week was spent looking at all areas of the training including risk assessment and presentation skills and Janet felt it was a great week spent with quality students. Attending the course was Jonny Cottrill and Iran Illahi both from The Avenue School, Jenny Peacock from Mary Hare School, Annamaria Fabri from The London Centre for Children with Cerebral Palsy, Jo Farley from Brookfields School and Susan McGill from Woodlands School in Aberdeen.

Brilliant feedback received for the course from Susan McGill who travelled all the way down from Aberdeen to join.

Cardiff County Council

Janet Brewer was in Cardiff today, 19th October 2015, along with a large amount of Rugby fans which made her trip “interesting”. She spent the day at Ty Gwyn School in Ely to deliver a Handling People with Special Needs Education one day refresher course to four Key Trainers. The three Kay Trainers from the school, Debbie Palfrey, Catherine Rowlands and Linda Brown were joined by Lorraine Wixey from Paternoster School in Gloucester. Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council Masterclass

This course was a bespoke Handling People with Special Needs Education Masterclass course which was split over two weeks, the first two days were held on the 5th & 6th October and the remaining three days were on the 12th – 14th October 2015, to suit the councils requests.

Janet had a busy five days and said that the group were a delight to train as they were all very focused and open to new challenges and ideas.

Merthyr Tydfil Council Oct 15

Attending the course was Lisa Beattie, Jackie Hall and Alison Devereux from Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council and Claire Tucker from Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council.


Newcastle City Council Object Handling Refresher Course

Newcastle City Council - 13th October 2015

Jan Crawford spent today, 13th October at Newcastle City Council to deliver a Handling for Administration one day refresher course to three members of staff at the council. The day was spent in one of the council warehouses working on practical techniques and problem solving as well as covering the theory elements. Great feedback from Maggie “Great course, really enjoyable, trainer was great and very knowledgeable“.

Newbridge School – 12th October 2015

Today’s course was a Handling People with Special Needs Education refresher course which was held at Newbridge School in Ilford. Attending the course was Victoria Owens, Pamela Whittingham and Tracey Hobden from Newbridge School along with Sharon Walker and Gillian Manoli both from Hornbeam Academy in Walthamstow.

Load Management Theory & Client Handling Techniques Masterclass Course

Janet Brewer was back in Glasgow this week, 7th – 9th October 2015, to train four new Key Trainers on the Load Management Theory & Client Handling Techniques Masterclass course. The course was held at Emcare Solutions in Glasgow. A very busy three days and great feedback, ” It was very in-depth, detailed and clear“. Attending the course was Alan Colquhoun and John Nicklin from Emcare Solutions, Iona Munns from The Richmond Fellowship Scotland and Nicola Wallace from 1st Home Care.

Brookfields School, Reading

Janet Hunt spent the day, 9th October 2015, at Brookfields School in Tilehurst, Reading to deliver a one day Handling People with Special Needs Education refresher evaluation workshop to three Key Trainers. A “very packed day” ,to use Janet’s words, was had with them looking at practical problem solving risk assessment and new equipment. The three Key Trainer attending were Tania Hemstock from Addington School, Helen Thurgood from Brookfields School and Zelda Ackroyd from The Livity School.

Canterbury College

Canterbury College 28 Sept - 2 Oct 15

Janet Hunt has spent this week, 28th September – 2nd October 2015, at Canterbury College, to train three new Key Trainers on the Handling People with Special Needs course.  

Attending the course, and pictured above from left to right, was Mark Finch, Christine Ord and Rebecca Smith. Janet said she has a superb week with challenges and obstacles which were all overcome.
