16th – 20th March 2020

This week Centaur delivered their last face to face manual handling course before the Covid 19 lockdown began. It was held at Delamere School in Trafford and was a five day Handling People with Special Needs Education train the trainer masterclass course. We had a full course, with six participants attending, Adam Robinson from the host school. He was joined by Yvonne Cullen from The Bridge School in Islington, London, Nick Postill from Millstead School in Liverpool, Anne-Marie Connolly from Fox Wood School in Warrington and Heather Jackson and Elaine Logan both from Brentwood School also in Trafford.

It was a great five days with all the participants working hard despite the worry and concerns surrounding the Covid 19 situation and all achieved a pass at the end of the five days with Heather awarded a pass with merit, Well done.

My training was informative, helpful and I learnt so much on this course. It was very interesting, made me evaluate and it was also made fun to keep my attention. There were a lot of practical activities to draw on and reflect of how we look at ourselves, our bodies and safe manual handling practices and techniques.” – Anne-Marie Connolly, Teaching Assistant, Fox Wood School

I loved this course from start to finish. I cam in second guessing myself and now I leave with a bit more confidence” – Elaine Logan, Teaching Assistant, Brentwood School
